What is the Queensland Rail Stopline Service?
The Queensland Rail Stopline Service is an external and confidential service available to employees, visitors, volunteers, contractors and other persons to report any suspected or actual cases of fraud or corrupt conduct occurring within Queensland Rail.
What can be reported to the Queensland Rail Stopline Service?

Why is Queensland Rail introducing this service?
Queensland Rail is adopting best practice by engaging services outside of the organisation where expert forensic investigators take the calls, analyse the information and report back to a central point while guaranteeing complete anonymity to the person making the disclosures (if required).
How do I make a report?
Queensland Rail has engaged Stopline to manage the receipt, recording and reporting of suspected and actual cases of fraud and corrupt conduct. Stopline is an independent, confidential and impartial conduit for information that enables the reporting of these matters. Stopline has people experienced in handling sensitive information from stakeholders.
Who is Stopline?
Stopline is an Australian company which specialises in providing integrity/ whistleblowing services. It has been operating for over a decade and assists listed and private companies; local, state and Commonwealth public sector bodies and not-for-profit organisations. Do I have to give my name?
No. Your call to Stopline can, if you wish, be anonymous and the staff at Stopline will not ask for any personal details. You may volunteer the information anonymously to Stopline if you desire or you can be open. If you do not wish to remain anonymous, this information may be provided to Queensland Rail Employee Relations. If you choose to remain anonymous, Stopline will issue a confidential reference and password should you wish to seek the status of your disclosure at some later date. Some legislation (e.g. Corporations Act in Australia) will only provide legislative protection if the caller identifies themselves. Stopline can assist at the time of your contact.
If I make a complaint regarding suspected misconduct, how will I be protected?
Queensland Rail is committed to the protection of genuine Whistleblowers against action taken in reprisal for the making of protected disclosures. Maintaining confidentiality is a crucial component of this protection. All disclosures will be treated with a high level of confidentiality. Queensland Rail has appointed Stopline to enhance confidentiality and anonymity within Queensland Rail with respect to Whistleblower procedures.
How does Stopline work?
Stopline enables employees, visitors, volunteers, contractors and other persons to report in good faith, suspected or actual cases of fraud and corrupt conduct; via telephone, email, internet, mail or App, to an external organisation with trained staff who will receive concerns confidentially (anonymously if you wish) and provide the confidential information to Queensland Rail Employee Relations . The program then places procedural requirements on dealing with and finalising the outcome of the disclosure.
Who and What is Employee Relations?
Employee Relations is a Unit of People and Culture. As well as dealing with industrial relations maters, the team also conducts internal investigations, and liaises with the Crime and Corruption Commission.
When should I contact Queensland Rail Stopline?
You can contact Queensland Rail Stopline when you have knowledge of any fraudulent, corrupt, unlawful or unethical conduct by an employee, visitor, volunteer, and/or contractor in Queensland Rail.
At what time can I contact Stopline?
You can contact the Queensland Rail Stopline service on 1800 951 277 (in Australia) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to speak with a trained Stopline interviewer. You can also send your disclosure via the internet (this website), email, mail or APP.
As an employee, how do I know that somebody won't just make some false claim to settle a personal grudge?
A disclosure that is knowingly false or misleading is an offence under the PID Act, punishable by up to two years imprisonment. Queensland Rail employees who make false declarations will also be in breach of the Code of Conduct, and if the matter relates to false allegations of corrupt conduct, it may be investigated by the Crime & Corruption Commission.
Will I be kept informed about the result of making a report?
Each disclosure receives its own Unique Reference Number. You can request an update from Employee Relations, however what information that can be released to you will be on a case by case basis and likely limited.
If I make a report am I liable anyway?
Anyone, who in good faith, reports an alleged fraud will not be disadvantaged or prejudiced in the making of such a compliant or disclosure. Such persons can be referred to as ‘Whistle blowers; or ‘public interest disclosers’. These employees may also have protections under legislation for having reported the matter.
All reports will be treated as confidential. Anonymity may not apply where disclosure leads to criminal proceedings.
